A few things that have inspired me lately:
⭕️ An in-depth look at Keith Haring’s famous mural in Collingwood, Melbourne. The piece, which he painted in 1984, was beginning to fade from years of weathering and the Arts Council took it upon themselves to hire Italian conservator Antonio Rava to restore it. It begs the question; should these kinds of artworks be left alone to age gracefully or should we step in and save them from disappearing? Futher reading: Broadsheet Melbourne; Creative Victoria.
⭕️ I was ecstatic to find out earlier this week that Mary Oliver is releasing a collection of essays titled Upstream in October. Not familiar with Oliver’s work? I recommend starting with Wild Geese. Here she is reading it at an event held by the Lannan Foundation.
⭕️ A genuinely fascinating look at how a Steinway piano is made. It’s a process that takes almost a year to complete and there are only two factories in the world — one in Astoria, NY and the other in Hamburg, Germany.
⭕️ Yum! Make your own mulled wine for those cold winter nights. This recipe is awesome.
⭕️ And FINALLY Frank Ocean released something!!
