Live at All is Joy, London

Hey you — I wanted to share with you all something that took up a huge chunk of my time in April.

On the 26th of April I played my first live show in quite a while. It was the first live show I’ve played since Memories of Tsukiji back in Tokyo in 2019. The set was part of a wider event taking place in the old Warner Bros sound studios in Soho here in London. The space has now been converted into a bar, live music venue and exhibition space with a few creative business thrown in for good measure.

It’s a wonderful building and I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to play in a place with such a rich history. The amount of Blockbuster movies that had their sound edited in this building is incredible.

The preparation was quite a lot for me as I didn’t want anything to go wrong on the evening. I spent most of April squirrelling away at making a fool-proof Ableton Live set of a few recent tracks that I’ve been working on, a track from my latest album Meditations, and some older bits and pieces from my Soundscapes Radio series thrown in.

Live projections on the evening were handled by the brilliant Pierre Bouvier Patron. It turned out to be a really special night.

Please listen to the live recording above, or go ahead and download it over on Bandcamp. It’s a free download, but set up as pay-what-you-think-it’s-worth.

Thank you for being here. Please share this with anyone who might enjoy it and if you'd like to support this newsletter please buy one of my albums over on Bandcamp, or consider becoming a paid subscriber here on Substack. My music is also on Spotify and Apple Music. Alternatively, you can send a few sats to: ozu_@getalby.com
