The mastering of Meditations, my new album, is going to be finished next week and as soon as it is, the album will be ready for release. The early-master test tracks that the engineer sent over to me are sounding gorgeous and have taken the album to another level. I'm excited to share everything with you as soon as it's ready.
But something was always bothering me about the album art. I thought it was good, but not as good as I wanted it to be for an album that's incredibly special for me, which I've put a huge amount of effort into writing, mixing, and mastering. I wasn’t happy unless the artwork also reflected that.
So I've chosen one of my favourite images ever. A shot I took in the Kiyosumi Gardens in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa in Tokyo. It's something that I use from time to time in my artist's icon on some social sites but it's never had pride of place as a piece of album artwork. This picture works so well for an album called Meditations because these gardens were a place I went to get away from the mad bustle of Tokyo. A place for reflection and thought. A place where I often wondered about the direction of life.
For me, it's the perfect picture to represent the album and I hope you'll like it too.
You will hear it soon, please wait just a little bit longer. In the meantime if you’d like to pre-order the album please do so over on Bandcamp.
