Who is SJF?

I’m Simon James French, aka, SJF. A sound artist composing music for moments, places and atmospheres. You can find my music over on Bandcamp, Apple Music or Spotify.

This Substack will be filled with things that interest and inspire me. A digital garden of ideas, quotes, books, music, films, thoughts, meditations, pictures and sound recordings. It might sometimes be text, it might sometimes be audio.

It’ll be related to music, gardening, stoicism, craftsmanship and the like.

This publication will be a way for me to chase my curiosity wherever it takes me. Wandering between the here and there. I tend to find that life can get a little boring if you don't follow your curiosity where it leads.

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of keeping a blog or an email newsletter but have never kept one going for long enough or put any real effort into one. I think I have a lot to share with the world and I want to get it out.
